Angle-to-Angle Installation

Bellezza, Ambra, Venetia, Gianna & 12mm Special Value

  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationInstall vapor barrier if subfloor is cement (6 mil polyethylene film).
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationAlways use an underlayment padding above the vapor barrier and below the laminate flooring planks. If pad is pre-attached, no additional underlayment should be used.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationInstall parallel to main light source; if no exterior light source, install parallel to longest wall.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationIf possible, start to lay panels under the door jam and finish installing planks on a wall without a door jam. See Working with Limited Clearance section.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationRemove the tongue on the panels that abut the walls to allow room for spacers and prevent problems from spills.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationStart placing panels so that tongue sides face the wall.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationInstall planks from left to right as you face the starting wall. Observe 3/8″ clearances for expansion and 16″ minimum for smallest usable piece.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationPlace the first plank of the first row into place. Insert the second plank into the short end of the groove of the first plank at a 25º, then lower and lock into place. Continue this process for the rest of the first row.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationPosition the first plank of the second row on top of the long end lip of the first row, but do not yet lift and lock into place. Allow 12″ minimum end-joint stagger row to row.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationConnect the second and remaining planks of the second row by lifting and locking the short ends together as described in illustration 8.
  • InstallationProceeding from left to right, lift the second row planks on their long end, and push into first row, then lower and lock. This procedure is like using a zipper.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationContinue the process for the rest of the floor.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationTo measure and cut last piece in a row, rotate offcut section 180º, mark accordingly, cut, rotate back 180º and slot into space.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationAlways allow for expansion around fixed objects.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationAn expansion gap T-strip is required when length of planks measures 40’ max and when width of planks measures 25’ max. Transition strips should be placed in all doorways directly under the door when the door is closed.
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationCut the row along the wall to
account for the unevenness of the wall while leaving 3/8” expansion room (2.5” minimum plank width).
  • Angle-to-Angle InstallationEnsure floor is able to expand.
